Rare Empty Spaces

Going for a movie at the Mall tonight, it’s a rarity to see the underground carpark open to the public with the ticketing office empty. And yet, there were still many empty spaces around.
While most of the locals are celebrating Hari Raya, it was such a leisure experience going to the Mall; and if only […]

Emo is just an excuse…?

I walked into a cubicle at the Mall’s cineplex before Death Race started and saw this on the wall partly covered by the cubicle door,
“Emo is just an excuse for …”
I thought, hey this has potential to be something clever, until I read the rest of it,
“guys to behave like girls ”
That doesn’t even make […]

Vader at the Mall

Surprise, surprise. I went to the cinema to catch the Clone Wars but I stopped dead in my tracks when I saw Darth Vader with his red lightsaber and two Storm Troopers by his side taking pictures with kids outside the cinema.
It’s not a sight you would normally see in Brunei and it is good […]

Brunei’s Disgrace

Last week I had a post titled Olympic’s Disgrace. Well, truthfully, that’s quite trivial compared to what happened to Brunei who was “disqualified” because of failure at completing registration on time for our participants.

Pistachio? Is that even officially an ice-cream? I think they had […]

1st Ballroom Competition In Brunei

Yesterday I went to the first ever dance competition organised by a Embrace Studio held at the Rizqun Hotel ballroom, in the hopes of finding a dance partner for future international competitions.
A friend told me that there may be some good prospects there. But when I got there (and I doubt this was because I […]

Desert

I woke up to a blue sky, almost an empty space in its majestic presence. It was so hot it felt like a desert, all that’s missing was the sand.

Weird thing is that the reported high was only 33C. Felt more like something closer to 36C.

Blue Water and Cement Wreck (Post 2: Cement Wreck)

But the water throughout the day was a little choppy. Han Peng, my Brunei dive buddy, suffers from seasick very easily and that day was no exception. On surface interval, he had headaches and had difficulty eating solid foods. It was as if what he said suddenly opened up a door in me and I […]
