Brunei Dive Site (2) - Champion Wreck

Second dive site was Champion Wreck, named so because it’s off Champion Oilfield.
This site has a wreck that’s fully covered with corals. These pictures do not do any justice to the majestic of what the naked eyes, or eyes through the face mask, can see.

And two more short video clips at the site:

Brunei Dive Site (1) - Arun’s Wreck

Postponed these for too long but here they are.
Don’t ever let anyone tell you that Brunei’s dive sites are nothing spectacular. That’s what I thought at first until ‘Cek Li brought me to two sites on 23 August. They were just fantastic.
Forget those (”official”) sites you can find on the internet. Forget those pricey deals […]

Canon DigiCam Underwater Photography Guide

Before I get to the point of this post, there’s actually a little story behind this finding. A finding which a self-absorbed friend of mine will demand credit like he did on the Cement Wreck post.

Equalising Methods

Due to the equalising problem I faced in my last dive, I googled and found a few forums addressing the problem. One suggested this link to a BSAC page which I found extremely helpful on ear clearing methods. Every diver should have this knowledge really.

Blue Water and Cement Wreck (Post 2: Cement Wreck)

But the water throughout the day was a little choppy. Han Peng, my Brunei dive buddy, suffers from seasick very easily and that day was no exception. On surface interval, he had headaches and had difficulty eating solid foods. It was as if what he said suddenly opened up a door in me and I […]

Blue Water and Cement Wreck (Post 1: Blue Water)

Two Sundays ago, I did my second dive in Brunei, visiting the Blue Water and Cement Wreck. There was the good and the bad between these two dives. The good being these are my first visit to actual ship wrecks, but the bad was I couldn’t equalise properly.
Immediately on descent on our first dive at […]

First Local Dive

Han Peng has been telling me about this very good divemaster, Azli I think is his name, that knows the best diving spots around Brunei so yesterday I finally decided to give it a try. It is also high time I checked out what the local dive spots have to offer.
The day started with waking […]
