Almost Alice

By Delrondu | Confession

In Tim Burton’s movie, it was Alice who said, “Sometimes I’ve believed as many as six impossible things before breakfast.”
What a great line by Lewis Caroll, among many others from the series.
Imagine this. We wake up, choose to believe in as many as six impossible things before breakfast that could happen for the day, and

Solomon Kane (5/10)

By Delrondu | Cinema

Not sure why Brunei cinema would bring in this movie which is old with nobody famous and unheard of. But they sometimes do, like Minotaur some months back which I didn’t manage to catch.
But it was quite entertaining, though I wouldn’t call it interesting. It’s an action movie about witches and witch hunters. Solomon Kane’s

Alice In Wonderland (9/10)

By Delrondu | Cinema

Like I said earlier, I was going to catch this again in 2D and I’m glad I did. Watching it a second time was an even better experience. And not just because it was 2D.
Mia Wasikowska was better the second time round as well. I noticed this time what made her so great was that

The Blind Side (8/10)

By Delrondu | Cinema

First of all, I have to say, Tim McGraw was unrecognisable to me. He suddenly looked much younger with his clean shaven face and that… hair. He looked familiar but I couldn’t place him until the end credits. I guess that showed one thing, his acting was passable.
I think the most brilliant part other than

Gran Torino (6/10)

By Delrondu | Cinema

OK, Mr. Eastwood. You’ve ventured into this small scale, small production, indie kind of flick; now please go back to what you do best.
There’s something very wrong right from the start. I had no idea going on so I really didn’t know what to make of it. The tone of the movie was so serious

Stop-Loss (6/10)

By Delrondu | Cinema

There’s nothing really amazing about this movie. Parts of it became like clips from a music video as this was an MTV production as well.
I have always liked Ryan Phillippe and I think that’s what gravitated me towards hunting down this movie more than anything else. There’s also Joseph Gordon-Levitt before his breakout role in

Splatter Squirrel

By Delrondu | Confession

I was just driving along, minding my own business, and saw this squirrel bounced towards the road. In my car I yelled for it to stop, and it did, by the pavement. But then it crouched down, got ready, got set, and dived right into my car tire as I drove past.
Weird and scary stuff.

Alice In Wonderland 3D (8/10)

By Delrondu | Cinema

A dark version of Alice In Wonderland. I’ve never read the books by Lewis Carroll and I didn’t even know there’s a sequel or sequels to it.
But I definitely enjoyed Tim Burton’s take on this combination of Alice In Wonderland and Through The Looking Glass. Burton is such a stylised director that you probably either
