Interlaced Fingers
By Delrondu | Writing17 Oct 2009
The morning rays creep in between the eyelids
Vivid dreams still tugging at the subconscious
Caught in between the past and the conjured
Reality sometimes can be such a bitch
Confusion a wanton understatement
Forces the focus away from the attention
Crystal clarity comes few and far in between
Howling winds almost burying the awakening
But the slender threads are strong as steel
Lifelines to tame the nerves of uncertainties
Hanging closely above a tidal wave
There’ll be no drowning in sorrows today
A kick, a paddle, a battle of emotions
A gasp for air, forming bubbles in rotation
Rising, surfacing, surrendering to nothing
But instead of success, sets another long recess
Getting lost in the endlessness of your eyes
How can it be wrong when it all feels so right
Interlaced fingers of yours and of mine
You’re letting go while I’m holding on so tight
