Your Courage, Your Destiny
By Delrondu | Confession, Writing5 Oct 2009
Here’s a thought. It just came to me; let me know your thoughts, if you agree or disagree. (Not if you think I’m slow to finally catch on to this.)
The universe (or your god) has a plan for every one of us. Our lives are mapped out from the beginning to the end. But this doesn’t mean that our destiny is fixed, that our life only follows this one path. Over the course of a lifetime, we are able to deviate from this path to the next depending on our actions or decisions at any one time.
It’s like this game they used to have in fantasy novels. You read the book, follow the instructions; and when you come to a certain point in the storyline, you are given a few choices that will affect your character’s next path. Choose the right path, and it’ll lead you further into the story; choose the wrong one and your character will die a horrible death.
Of course it’s seldom that dire a consequence in our lives. But effectively, that’s just how life works. What we do today will affect our tomorrow. Sure, we all know this. But are you looking at the bigger picture here, the picture that the universe has painted for everyone of us? Are you able to see beyond your ego and your self; and see in the grand scheme of things, where every single decision no matter how big or how small, will affect the end game?
You can say it’s just like the concept of hell. Do something evil and you’ll end up in the eternal flames; otherwise the white clouds of heaven awaits you. That’s the extreme. What I’m talking about right now is this:
Do you have the courage to always look at the positive side of things and be confident in yourself enough to believe that if you do your best and make the best decision in every single action from now, the universe will take care of your destiny, your end game? Do you have the courage to believe that the universe conspires for your success, not failure?
And I also believe that you always have the chance to right every wrong. But you need to grab on to the opportunity whenever it presents itself because you have no idea how long before the next one will arrive, if at all.
So, live a life of courage, and faith. If not in yourself, then in the universe. If not in the universe, then in yourself. Hey, it works either way! Believe it! And I’ll leave you today with this quote from a book I have just finished.
“I want to see life. I want to hold it in my hands. I want to leave a footprint on the sand of a desert island… I want… I want everything.” – The Graveyard Book by Neil Gaiman
