Lack Of Sleep

Still recovering from lack of sleep from last weekend. Started on Thursday morning when I got too excited as it was going to be my first time on the logistic team that evening, that I woke up at 5 in the morning and had little sleep after that.

And for the next few days over the weekend, I was sleeping at around 12am and waking up at 6am. The days were very full and the nights were very short.

It was challenging on Monday as I went back to work, and by the evening’s gathering, I was looking haggard. Some new found friends came up to me and said I looked really tired and giving me sympathy. I wasn’t expecting that. I guess I looked worse than I felt.

However, that afternoon I almost had a headache while sending a few participants to the airport. Good thing one one of them gave me a massage from the backseat with a Chinese medicine oil that they are selling. Her fingers knew exactly where to press, I was impressed.

By Tuesday I still haven’t recovered because I didn’t leave the dinner venue till 11pm. I went to take a passport-size photo for the Cambodia visa application, and what came out on the photo was me looking like I lacked blood in my face. I shall not post that picture up here because I really don’t like it. The photographer made me pose with my chin a little lower, my eyes looking a little to the right instead of focusing on the camera, and I had to push my chest out and pull the jacket closer to form a “v” on my chest. And I ended up looking really awkward. Plus I’m not too sure about this new haircut I just got yesterday.

But working for Linda Chandler, it is so fulfilling. Especially when my contribution has been felt by the participants, receiving their thanks made everything even more worthwhile.

That alone will keep me going for the next one. August 6 – 9, I’ve signed up.
