A Playful Misconception, A Childhood's Dream

I’m doing this only because it’s you, Carmen, since you “tagged” me. And also because it is in the spirit of The New Cycle (post below), I’m not going to ignore or say “no”. Who knows it could be fun and I may find new awareness and discover myself more?

But you said it’s circulating around Facebook? I’ve never seen it. Then again, I guess I don’t spend as much time on FB as  you do.

So onward with the 25 random facts about myself.

1)  I have trouble with sleeping. Little sounds will wake me up unless I’m dead tired and really in deep slumber. It’s so bad that I have to threaten the grass cutter to come after 8am.

2) I am easily disgusted by uncleanliness. But if I was the culprit, it’s not so bad because I know where each dirt and whatnot comes from.

3) If I can help it, I won’t eat chicken wings with my fingers because I hate how the smell cannot be washed off easily. This is also why I don’t enjoy BBQ.

4) I’m very aware of my protruding belly, albeit a small one, and I’m starting to watch what I eat because I think I’ve reached the age where if I’m not careful it’s going to just… release itself. Goodbye, supper.

5)  When someone’s performing, however amateurish, be it singing or hosting, I’m very critical about them. I can’t help it. I’ll even feel angry if they are getting paid for more than what they are worth – and this is mostly from experiences from numerous weddings.

6) I like to think of myself as a Man of Music and Movies. I love them and I don’t know what I’d do without them.

7) I need to keep my hair short because it’s curly, thick and dry. They won’t look long when they’re long because they’re so curly that they’ll make my head look bigger instead.

8)  I’ve stopped listening to the radio completely because songs played there are useless. I love to discover new songs that are not released by singers that are not signed.

9) I have a bad memory. One example is, I can watch a movie and then forget what happens in it and then re-watching it again can sometimes feels like I’ve never seen it before.

10) I write music reviews for one local newspaper while movie reviews for another. I use two pen names which I shall not type out here in case I get myself into trouble with both.

11) I’ve had my heart broken and I don’t think it’s properly put back together. But good news from that is I feel like I have nothing to lose now and I’m not afraid. Nothing will feel worse than what I’ve felt before. I’ve tried to go into new relationships but I think I’m afraid to commit. Hence I’m still single. There’s only one girl I can see myself settling down with.

12) I love the rain and the different colours of the sky. Sometimes I’d stop my car by the roadside just to take a picture of it if my camera is with me.

13) I’ve had my life changed twice in the past two months. 2008 had big changes for me and I’m a new and happier person in 2009.

14) I can be easily distracted at work with the internet. For instance, right now.

15) I’d like to collect more CDs, DVDs and action figures but I just don’t have the space for them.

16) Some people pity me when they see me alone at the movies. When that happens, I pity them.

17) My favourite food is egg. Whatever way you cook it, it’s still great.

18) I’m quite the atheist. I need to see in order to believe.

19) I regret that my Chinese isn’t good. I regret also that my English isn’t great. But that’s not to say I’ve given up on improving myself.

20) I am an angry driver, I like to use the horn every chance I get. I know that’s my ego talking so I’m controlling myself more now.

21) I’ve never gotten into a fight, never got beaten. Of course I’m not asking for it, just never experienced it.

22) My favourite game remains to this date, Final Fantasy VIII. Love the love story and that’s my first ever experience with Final Fantasy.

23) One of my favourite movies that I’ve watched over and over is While You Were Sleeping. It’s just romantic and funny and never gets old.

24) I am somewhat a romantique.

25) I used to have this notion that I would commit suicide when both my parents are gone and my brother is well and good and once I’ve had enough of this life because I was never asked if I wanted to be born. This is still quite open-ended as of now.
