Fileplanet

Not hesitating, after I’ve received the pre-order codes from the Collector’s Edition, I immediately followed all instructions. Before playing, I was forwarded to Fileplanet.com to download a 9gig client needed to run the game.

Fileplanet came with a download manager but the catch here if you don’t pay the website is this, you are put in a queue and that first queue I was in was 4 hours long, at least. I waited.

But after almost 50%, which is a little more than 24 hours, eSpeed screwed up and I lost connection that night. In the morning I turned the manager on, but to my surprise, I was put back into another queue! And from here on, I kept getting put back into the queue automatically. This lasted for another two days, eating into my pre-order play time.

At 90% I was put into another 4-hour queue and that’s when I gave up and paid the monthly fee of USD 6.95 because the next day (yesterday) was a public holiday and I’m not going to waste that looking at that queue counter.

I wrote in a complaint both to Fileplanet and Mythic and got a reply today, with the basic term “technical problems” as the excuse. Now I’m not sure if this meant the automatic kick-back into the queue or that I had to queue at all, but I wrote them back saying I’ve lost time and money and ask for a reimbursement.
