The Eluded Peace Sign

Why is it that when almost everyone else give the peace sign in front of a camera, they look normal – like exactly what they are doing, giving the peace sign and posing; but when we Chinese do it, we somehow look like retards? Seriously, it’s just weird and almost unfair.

There’s this unnatural energy we give off; as if we have to contort our arms, hands and fingers to make that sign that our whole body and facial expression just go out the window. And so we over-pose in order to compensate.

And the worse thing about this is, we like doing it so much it has become the only way we know how to pose.

We just don’t realise that the peace sign cannot be used on every occasion or situation. For e.g. substituting a palm-wave with the peace-wave. It just doesn’t work that way.

(And when I say “we” here, I really do not include myself.)
