A Playful Misconception, A Childhood's Dream

Few days ago, my brother came back to town and I decided to go along with him to The Happening again as I had to find out if this movie, stripped away any and all preconceptions and expectations, was any good.

Yes, the freaky vibe was still there; I could feel that suspense everyone else in the cinema was feeling; the scares; the gore; the unique direction. But when it comes to the ending, it’s just like that scene when Leguizamo was in that car going full speed into a tree. The most important part of the movie – especially when it’s a Shymalan movie – is the ending, and this one is a wreck.

And as we were walking out of the cinema, my brother summed up the flaw nicely:

Deno: … There’s no twist.

Me: Yea, but it’s just like Lady In The Water (which he liked as well).

Deno: Yea… but that plot was clear.
