Jonas Brothers vs Clark Brothers

I’m not here to bash, I just don’t understand.

I’ve never heard Jonas Brothers’ music except for that remake of Year 3000 (originally by Busted I believe) that played on MTV. And being me, immediately I switched channels. But they appeared on the result show last week on Dancing With The Stars and after watching their performance, I cannot understand how they are as big as they are, with sold out concerts everywhere, as announced by host Tom Bergeron.

The way they looked on stage, their setup looked like a lead singer with two musicians (or should I say instruments players) because all the lead had was a mic. So whenever the other guy started singing, the lead singer looked so awkward not doing anything. He should just pick up a guitar and pretend to look better, since he’s already so good at pretending to look good.

But the biggest problem I have with these Hobbits-lookalike is their vocal capabilities. They sound off-pitched many times and they sing in this deliberate nasally voice that’s more irritating than appealing or impressive. Why do the public love them so I’ll never understand. They aren’t the most good looking out there, they aren’t great musicians, they aren’t even good at singing.

Now compare them with The Clark Brothers, who just won the Next Great American Band, and who just appeared this week on American Idol’s result show. There’s no comparison!

The Clark Brothers have incredible vocals, great musicianship and with extreme convictions when on stage, to the point of looking possessed. If these guys don’t make it big, the future with music fans is so bleak it’s scary.
