Empty Saturday Night

My nights have not been free for the past year. So yesterday, Saturday, I decided to make it an off day with no proof reading or dance lessons to conduct, admittedly for a very specific reason that did not come into fruition.

It was a little bit weird having the whole night to plan for, something I haven’t done in a while. I texted a few friends to see if anyone was up to anything interesting that I could join (although an invitation would not guarantee participation on my side – cruel but true), but to no avail.

Luckily Hwee called to ask something trivial and I asked him what he was doing that night. He invited me to go for the Japanese movie “L” on the midnight showing, the third instalment of the Death Note movies. I watched the first one and hated it in its entirety that I’d rather stay home than go for this.

I half heartedly asked if they were going for dinner, which they weren’t but ended up having it with Hwee and Boy. Right there I suggested to go for Charlie Wilson’s War before “L” and didn’t expect them to comply.

All in all it was quite a good night. Almost crashed and burned but it didn’t. And the movie wasn’t as bad as the critics said too.
